I am a former corporate executive. I no longer work due to chronic illness (daily migraines and Fibromyalgia).
I have been married for nearly 30 years and have a 16 year old daughter, named Avalon.
My passions are animals, LGBT rights, environmental issues. I am an ovo-lacto vegetarian (I eat eggs and dairy, but nothing with a mother or a face). I am passionate about many issues. Life has many shades of gray, but concerning issues of equity, fairness and the rights of people, I only see black and white.
I love to read (all genres). My favorite books are Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury, Rebecca by Daphne De Maurier and ‘Til We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis. Favorite authors are Truman Capote and Isaac Bashevis Singer. I love classic, foreign and indie films. I LOVE the Marx Brothers and Monty Python.
I have fulfilled a dream by recently moving from Chicago back to Minnesota (my childhood home). I live in a remarkable river town in west-central Minnesota in a 1912 vintage craftsman. I love to garden, decorate and collect all things vintage. I am drawn to vintage buttons, children’s handkerchiefs, umbrellas, 1930-1940’s kitchenware, old glassware and folkart. I love spending hours in thrift and antique stores and attending auctions. Bringing home a wonderful vintage item for me is like rescuing a bit of history.
I am creative and dabble in many different things including cake decorating, drawing and party planning.
I am a twin (fraternal) and am the middle child of 8. I have lived both a life of plenty and have experienced poverty. I have been both homeless and house-insecure.
